Cooking

I like to cook. It relaxes me. So this week I've made hoummous, pesto, peach crisp and sookha keema. Yum. The pesto and hoummous were a bit trial and error: I forgot to add the tahini to the hoummous initially, and I left the garlic out of the pesto, too. But I soon remedied these things, and now I'm enjoying the fruits of my labor.

Brazil in the 'hood

Brazil and Argentina played the final of the America's Cup today. Brazil won, 3-0. The avenue near where I live is a big Brazilian center, so there were people all over the place. After the game, the revelry partially blocked the street under the subway, which runs above ground here. At one point, I was watching from the platform of the subway station, looking down on the crowd gathered at a Brazilian bar on the corner. It was a lot of fun to see so many happy people.
